Every component of an arts festival is crucial, but the volunteers’ exceptional treatment of the artists
is what has put this festival on the map.

July 1, 2010 - Message from Pam Thomas, Volunteer Coordinator

Dear Francisco's Farm Volunteers:

Thank you so much for being a part of our Francisco's Farm team this year!  Based on the feedback we've received, you've outdone yourselves once again!  We truly appreciate your willingness to devote your time and talents to Francisco's Farm - it is our volunteers that make Francisco's Farm so special year after year.  I help to recruit the volunteers and organize things, but it is your smiling faces, willing attitudes, and cheerful dispositions that really make it all special for everyone.  I love the art and music, but what I love and appreciate most about Francisco's Farm is the sense of community and accomplishment that we all share from working together to get it all done!

This year, our volunteers ranged in age from 6 to 80 ... a true testament to the fact that everyone, no matter how young or old  can contribute ... I am especially proud of our young volunteers - We really couldn't have done it without the countless hours they devoted to the Festival!  It is very unusual in our fast paced "all about me" society to find a group of young people willing to devote so much time, energy and effort giving back to their community - For some of them, this year was their 7th year volunteering!  Parents of these wonderful youngsters - please pass this along to them as I do not have e-mail addresses for many of them!

Also, if you recruited someone to help and I don't have their e-mail address, please pass this along - this especially applies to Dale who brought a full contingent of strong backs on Friday, and Laurel, who recruited several friends to help out!

Thank you!

Pam Thomas

Volunteer Coordinator

We often get requests from people who want to know how they can be more involved, from participating in long range plans, taking responsibility for a critical task, working on a committee, serving as an advisor, tie-dyeing banners, or any number of other tasks.

Volunteering for Francisco's Farm is very family friendly - if you have family members who might like to volunteer, invite them to join you! We have several jobs that young people (generally children over 8 years old) can help with both before and during the festival and we love having them join us!

Would you like to join us? Review the Volunteer Job Descriptions (PDF file), then fill out the Volunteer Form (PDF you can fill out online and email to us).

Volunteer Orientation is Monday, June 21st - 7pm - Midway College Auditorium

If you can't volunteer on Festival weekend, there are other things you CAN do today!

Want to be more involved in the planning for Francisco's Farm 2011?
We have room for you on our planning teams!  We have several teams - most teams will not begin meeting until we get closer to the festival - and meetings will be held only as needed to get the work done ... please see the team descriptions and additional information below, and if you are interested, or need more information e-mail Pam Thomas or give her a call at 312-6395.

We hope you will consider joining of one of these Teams, and please feel free to invite family and friends who may want to contribute their time and talents to Francisco’s Farm!
