Francisco's Farm Week
We're putting the final touches on the Festival, and want to give you a preview of all the fun activities we've got planned for you in Midway this weekend!
First, tune in to Nick Lawrence's show, Curtains at 8, on WUKY-FM 91.3 on Wednesday, June 18th when Nick hosts a crew from the Festival including Arturo Sandoval, Dan Neil Barnes, musicians Billy Hill and Blake Jones, and me.
Rise early on Friday, June 20th to catch Lee Cruse Live at Sunrise on WLEX-TV Channel 18, broadcast live from Francisco's Gallery - our showcase of the incredible wealth of creative talent that calls Woodford County home, from visual and craft artists, musicians and authors, to chefs, vintners and a Master Distiller! When you arrive in Midway this weekend, you'll be greeted by our signature tie-dyed banners - 150 banners will line the streets leading to the festival, and will be waving in the breeze all around the campus. (And speaking of breezes, please concentrate all your mental efforts on the fabulous weather we've ordered for the weekend - temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's, light breezes, and a few fluffy clouds floating by...)
Here are some Festival Highlights you won't want to miss:
Artique's 'All Equine Art Gallery' in the Student Center
Mike Stutland and his crew at Artique have been gathering a fabulous collection of Equine Art in preparation for the 2010 World Equestrian Events scheduled for Lexington. Here at the Festival we're delighted to offer a preview of some gorgeous works in metal, glass, jewelry, photography, pottery, and paintings. You're sure to find an expression of the equine spirit to take home with you.
Bill & Leslie Penn will be performing at 11am on Sunday morning, and you'll find our full schedule of performers on the music page at our website. From jazz saxophone to bluegrass to caribbean blues, our music stage offers a performance for every taste.

This charming print, by watercolorist Carol Bowles of Midway, adorns our posters, T-shirts, and Art Totes.
Posters are only $5 each, and a limited edition version, signed & numbered by the artist, is $25
Shirts and Totes are $12 each, or 2 for $20 and you can Mix-and-Match. A limited edition series of Art Totes, signed and numbered by the artist, is available for $25 each.
So kick the plastic bag habit, and purchase an Art Tote to use on your next shopping trip!
Thanks to our Art Totes Sponsor - Nancy Barron & Associates!
When the Festival closes at 5:30 on Saturday, come on downtown for our Slow Night and Shop Hop! Midway's charming shops and galleries will be open until 8pm - all the restaurants will be open for dinner, with music on the patios at The Black Tulip and Darlin' Jeans.

In the Thoroughbred Theatre, Slow Food Bluegrass and Honest Farm Market will serve an all-local foods dinner, starting at 5:30pm. Guests will enjoy a series of films from the International Slow Foods Festival. After dinner, Shades of Grass will be in concert at the Theatre ~ concert admission is only $6.
Visit 'Fine Dining for the Arts-Inclined' for details about the special events Midway has planned during Francisco's Farm Arts Festival
