Meet Patsy Gullett ~ a watercolor artist with

a most unusual technique  ~

When I read Patsy Gullett's description of the process she uses to create her artwork I was fascinated and couldn't wait to see the images. I expected to see added dimension and depth, but was amazed at how her work pops out at you. I can't wait to see it in person at the Festival.

Patsy has incorporated her love of historical buildings and universities in the South and through the country into a unique and original art form.

She first creates an original pen & ink line drawing of a historical subject. She then prints it on a 25% rag paper - at least four times!  She hand-cuts each print with an x-acto knife to create separate layers, then glues them together and hand-watercolors each layer.

I'm sure you'll agree that her original technique captures the living character of these architectural landmarks.

A Midwest native now residing in the South, Patsy will travel to Midway from Fayetteville, Georgia for the 6th annual Francisco's Farm Arts Festival.

Her work is included in corporate collections around the United States and in other countries.  She is an active participant in fine art shows throughout the Southeast, from the Coconut Grove Art Show in Miami to St. James Art Festival in Louisville. We are delighted she has decided to come to Midway this year.

Patsy has done custom work for the US Capitol gift shop, the Homestead, The Greenbrier, and Disney, just to name just a few.

Thanks for your support! Talk to you next week!
